DPRs of projects on River Krishna, godavari will be submitted to Centre for dispute resolution by Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
For years Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were refusing to bring the GPRS in public domain. Now both the parties have agreed to submit the detailed project report( DPRs) to Krishna and Godavari River board.
Online video conference was held on Tuesday where chief minister of both the states YS jagan mohan Reddy and K chandrashekar Rao presented their argument at apex council . this meeting was for the dispute raised by the states on one another over the newly initiated irrigation project after the bifurcation in 2014
The union jail shakti minister assured both the states that the center would take a decision on contentious project after going through the (DPRS ). gajendra singh shekhawat Told that the states had finally agreed to submit the (DPRS) to respective boards of Krishna and godavari rivers which will submit their views to apex council.
Telangana CM have also agreed to withdraw the petition filed in Supreme Court against Andra Pradesh. The River management board office will be shifted to vijaywada.
Shekhawat further added that the center would soon decide the purview of two river boards.
